sarah donnelly harnum - president

Sarah is a half-Newfoundlander on her father's side. She has been a member of the AMNL since 2011 and a midwife in Newfoundland and Labrador since 2021. Prior to working in NL, Sarah was a midwife in Hamilton, Ontario for over 7 years. 

Sarah works at the Carbonear midwifery site as the implementation coordinator and registered midwife. 

Sarah served as Chair of the College of Midwives of Newfoundland and Labrador for 2.5 years and is a current board member on the Perinatal Mental Health Alliance of NL and the Baby Friendly Council of NL and is working to start a chapter of the Women's Health Coalition.

As a Professional Associate for the Memorial University School of Nursing, Sarah helps train nurses and nurse practitioners and is always on the lookout for students.

ann noseworthy - past president

Born in Newfoundland, Ann began her journey to Midwifery while she was a Nursing student at MUN. She completed an advanced certificate in Midwifery in Edinburgh Scotland in 1991 and worked as a Midwife in the South of England.  In 1993, Ann went to New Zealand where she worked as a midwife and Midwifery Lecturer until returning home to Newfoundland and Labrador in 2011. 

Ann has a PhD in Midwifery from Massey University, New Zealand,  and recently retired from a position as Assistant Professor teaching in the Faculty of Nursing at MUN

Ann joined the AMNL in 2011 on her return to Newfoundland. She became a CAM rep in 2012 and then a board member in early 2013 when she became President of the AMNL.

Ann was a member of the Regulatory Committee in the development of the 2016 midwifery regulations and a member of the Midwifery Implementation Committee until 2019.

pamela browne - treasurer

Pamela is the treasurer for the AMNL, a role she has had for 20 years. She has been a member of the AMNL (and its predecessor) since 1992. She is originally from Australia and worked in Labrador for 30 years as a midwife. She is dedicated to advocating for the rights of birthing families to have access to the midwifery care in NL.

lindsay woodford - secretary

"Lindsay was born and raised in Newfoundland and Labrador and is proud to call this place home. She spent 4 years in British Columbia for midwifery training and the start of her career but returned to the East Coast in 2024 to join the team in Carbonear. She has a passion for advocacy for equitable access to fulsome reproductive care for all.

 

Before midwifery, Lindsay achieved a Bachelor of Arts in French and Folklore as well as a Certificate of Newfoundland and Labrador Studies from Memorial Newfoundland and Labrador. She looks forward to using the knowledge from her studies in telling the stories presented by the Association.
