what is a midwife?

Registered Midwives are health care professionals who provide expert primary care to you and your baby from pre-conception through to 6- weeks postpartum.

Care is evidence based, in partnership with you and your family.

The Canadian Model of Midwifery care honours informed choice, continuity of care, and choice of birth setting.

Midwives are educated, are able to order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications as needed.

Midwifery care is publicly funded.
