Becoming a Midwife in Canada

Entry to the midwifery profession in Canada is through a four year Bachelor of Midwifery at the Midwifery Programs in the country. Inquiries can be made at the Midwifery Programs listed below:

For internationally educated midwives an assessment of their experience is undertaken by the regulatory authority in the jurisdiction where they wish to practice.  The midwife may be required to undertake a bridging program in order to meet the regulatory requirements.
