Welcome

Welcome to the Association of Midwives of Newfoundland and Labrador (AMNL).

Congratulations on the birth of regulated midwifery

We are very pleased to announce that the government has hired three midwives for Central Health. One midwife will begin work soon with two others planning to start later in the year. Families in the Gander area should have access to midwifery services by years end. The midwifery consultant, Gisela Becker is working with groups in Goose Bay and Carbonear to establish midwifery practices.

The Association is a professional  interest group which has been working over a number of years to achieve regulation of midwives in the province. There is continued work to do to ensure Midwifery is integrated into the public health care system across the province.

To assist AMNL in it's continued  work please read this document
